Lugo-Lugo,<\/a> director of SLCR and comparative ethnic studies professor, both published chapters in the volume <i>Teaching with Tension: Race, Resistance, and Reality in the Classroom,<\/i> edited by Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uakron.edu\/english\/faculty-staff\/bio-detail.dot?u=pbolton\">Philathia Bolton \u00a0(University of Akron)<\/a>, Dr. <a href=\"http:\/\/english.ua.edu\/people\/cassander-smith\/\">Cassander L. Smith (University of Alabama)<\/a>, and Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/english.clas.asu.edu\/content\/lee-bebout\">Lee Bebout (Arizona State University)<\/a>, published by Northwestern University Press. Streamas\u2019 chapter is titled, \u201cHow We Lost Our Academic Freedom: Difference and the Teaching of Ethnic and Gender Studies.\u201d Lugo-Lugo\u2019s chapter is titled, \u201cSome of My Students Are Leprechauns (Or Why It Is Difficult for White College Students to Understand That Racism Is Still a Big Deal).\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Dec. 7th, 2018, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/slcr.wsu.edu\/faculty\/john-streamas\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. John Streamas<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, associate professor of comparative ethnic studies and American studies, wrote the book chapter \u201cNot Same, Not Different: Counting Temporalities in Peter Malekin\u2019s Alchemy of Time and Ruth Ozeki\u2019s Being.\u201d This chapter appears in the volume <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Time, Consciousness, and Writing: Peter Malekin Illuminating the Divine Darkness, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">edited by Robert Eddy and Theo Malekin and published by Brill Rodopi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Oct. 5th, 2018, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/slcr.wsu.edu\/faculty\/john-streamas\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr. John Streamas<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, associate professor of comparative ethnic studies and American studies, wrote the chapter \u201cA Mottled Minority,\u201d in the volume <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Narratives of Marginalized Identities in Higher Education<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, edited by Santosh Khadka, Jo Davis-McElligatt, and Keith Dorwick, published by Routledge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Jan. 15th, Dr. John Streamas, associate professor of comparative ethnic studies and American studies, and Dr. Carmen R.
