Project within the fields of Latin American and Cultural Studies as well as Utopian Studies intended to produce a book-length manuscript on Canto Nuevo (New Song) —a Chilean musical genre characterized for its popular roots and its commitment to social change and social justice— as a utopian counter-discourse to the official narratives about national identity created during Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship.
