Study Abroad

 

Interested in advancing your language skills or learning language in a study abroad program?  The School of Languages, Cultures, and Race (SLCR) encourages our students to participate in a study abroad program in order to build language skills and gain cultural knowledge first-hand in a country of choice.

The Office of International Programs Study Abroad Programs in Bryan Hall 206 is the place to begin. Explore the types of programs offered, where the study abroad programs are offered, academic planning, and how to apply.  Listed below are specific faculty-led study abroad opportunities offered by the faculty in the SLCR.

Faculty-led Study Abroad Opportunities

Our faculty will be offering the following faculty-led study abroad programs through the Office of International Programs Study Abroad Programs.

GUATEMALA: HEARTS IN MOTION MEDICAL MISSION
Dates: May 10 – 20, 2023
Earn 1 credit: For_Lang 300 or Biology 491

WSU SUMMER IN FRANCE – Paris with Insook Webber, Faculty Director

French Language and Culture
Dates: May 15 – June 25, 2023

Course Prerequisites Requirements:  French 204; 2.5 cumulative gpa
Earn 6 credits: French 321 & 380; or French 480 and Honors 380
Deadline to Apply: February 1, 2023

WSU SUMMER IN FRANCE – The Lights of Provence  with Insook Webber, Faculty Director

Dates: July 3 – July 31, 2023
Earn 4 credits: French 120 & French 305
Deadline to Apply: February 1, 2023

WSU SUMMER IN AUSTRIA-SUMMER IN VIENNA with Joshua Bonzo, Associate Professor, Career Track and Karen Jennings, Assistant Professor, Career Track
German Language and Culture
Dates: May 16 – June 24, 2023
Earn 6 credits: German 308 or German 408 and German 320 or German 420
