Biography
Joseba Pérez Guerrero was born and raised in Mondragón, Basque Country, Spain. He earned a B.A. in English Philology from the University of the Basque Country in 2013, where his studies sparked a strong interest in American literature.
In 2014, he moved to the United States to work as a visiting lecturer at the University of Idaho, where he began teaching Spanish language, literature, and film at the university level. The experience confirmed his passion for teaching and encouraged him to continue building his academic career in the United States. He earned an M.A. in English from the University of Idaho in 2017 and an M.A. in Hispanic Studies from Washington State University in 2020.
His academic interests span language pedagogy, Spanish and Latin American literature, and cinema. As an instructor, he strives to create engaging learning environments that encourage students to use Spanish authentically while exploring the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
Outside the classroom, Joseba enjoys reading, watching horror movies, listening to American roots music, traveling, discovering new foods, and experiencing different cultures.
