“Learning a new language is the most excellent way to exercise your mind and allows you to communicate with an entire new population of people. Through learning a language, you learn more about yourself, about others, and about the world as a whole.”

Riku Burrowes
Major: BA Animal Sciences
Minor: Music
Tutoring for: Japanese
I think that learning a language is the best way to get to know more people and different perspectives. I always love to learn new words in a different language, and it is very fun to have a wide knowledge of random things. And most importantly, you get to understand the humor of that language, which I love.”
Riku Burrowes – First language is Japanese and grew up in Kyoto, Japan.

Learning another language is not only learning different words for the same things, but learning another way to think about things.”
