Marlene McMichael

Marlene McMichael, a native of Mexico, has been teaching
Spanish as a second language for 16 years in Mexico and the US. She earned her master’s in Spanish at Western Michigan University, where she was also recognized for effectiveness in teaching. For 11 years, she worked as a senior lecturer at Georgia College, a public liberal arts institution, leading five sections of Spanish at the elementary and intermediate levels. She also taught conversation classes in a face-to-face and online setting. She has presented at regional and national language conferences like ACTFL. Her areas of interest include: second language teaching methods, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and language acquisition. In January 2020, Marlene moved to the West Coast with her husband. When not teaching, she enjoys dancing, watching movies, and traveling.
