Emmiyan Ferro Diaz

Emmiyan Ferro Diaz is a Cuban immigrant who was raised in Miami, Florida. His research interest includes gender and masculinities, particularly the performance of Latinx masculinities. His current research focuses on the performance of masculinities by Latino men in the context of the barbershop.

• 1000 + hours of participant observation in multiple field sites
• Coded and transcribed over 100 qualitative interviews, 50-60 minutes each
• Conducted Ethnographic Analysis through Grounded Theory in American Studies, Ethnic Studies, and Latino Studies
• Worked with qualitative data analysis and transcription software from research ware
