Joseba Pérez Guerrero

Lecturer of Spanish Joseba Pérez Guerrero

He was born in Mondragón, Basque Country, Spain, where he spent most of his life and discovered his career was to be closely tied to the English language. In 2013, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Philology from the University of the Basque Country. While he was studying, he felt in love with American literature, developing a special liking for gothic literature. The following year, he started a Master in Comparative Literature.

It had been Joseba’s lifelong dream to be able to study, work and live in the United States, and in 2014 he was granted to the opportunity to work as a visiting lecturer at the University of Idaho. He was assigned to teach various courses of Spanish language and literature to college students. There, he assured his true passion for teaching and continued to do it for the following two years while he was also pursuing a Master of Arts in English, a degree he obtained in 2017. After such a positive experience teaching Spanish, he decided that he wanted to return to his origins and reunite with the literature written in Spanish, that is why he is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Hispanic Studies. His main interest areas range from Latin American short stories to 20th century Spanish poetry. It is crucial for him to expand the limits of his inner world, therefore he loves to travel and discover new places and cultures. Joseba Pérez Guerrero has an M.A. in Hispanic Studies for Washington State University.
